Room 411, Monday Evening
Sep. 2nd, 2019 06:31 pm"No, Mom, I got in fine, I promise," Simon said, managing to enough purchase on the doorknob with one bag-laden hand to pull the latch and push open the door with the shoulder not sandwiching his phone to his ear. "No, no crazy bus driver or anything this time, that shuttle's just for new students and anyway it was on Saturday, but the cab wasn't too bad, they've got, like, a special rate to the island or something, I don't know." He seriously didn't; he'd kinda thought the cab ride would have been a lot more expensive, but he wasn't going to complain about it not eating into his spending money before the term even started.
With a grateful sigh, he heaved his suitcase and duffel up onto his bed. "Yeah, no, seriously, it was fine. I don't have any classes on Mondays anyway, so I didn't miss anything even with the flight delay. Anyway, I just got my room, so I should probably-- Yeah, I love you, too." Simon smiled a little wistfully. "Say hi to Dad and Nora for me, 'kay? I'll see you at Christmas."
With a last farewell, Simon flicked off the call and collapsed face forward onto his bed. It was... ... good... to be back.
[OOC: Hello, all! So~o I am attempting to bring Simon back! Essentially with the idea that he was SUPER QUIET basically all of last year after I, uh, disappeared, and then home for the summer. Let's see how I do this time! XD
Post is open, door is open, etc!

Creekwood High School Gymnasium, Shady Creek, Georgia. Last May, On a Thursday Evening
Simon had been nervous even asking Jackie to the dance, despite the fact that they'd been "dating" for a month. It wasn't out of any fear that she didn't actually like him; in fact, Nick's assurances that, "She's really into you, dude!" were having, unbeknownst to Nick, quite the opposite effect.
( Lead had, predictably, stayed home. )
[OOC: Vague spoilers for Love, Simon; the first bit is adapted from canon, while Simon's solution to covering his secret is, uh, decidedly not.
NFI and NFB, obviously. It's good to be back.]
